"As you may know, last week we had a section 8 OFSTED inspection. I am pleased to tell you that the visit was very positive and I wanted to take a moment to contact you as many of the strengths highlighted within the inspection were as a result of the inspiration and advice we received from the Princecroft courses you held before lockdown. Our whole class reading sessions and book spine were commented on as a particular strength, exposing children to high quality texts, authors and genres as well as the carefully structured lesson sequences you advocate. Following my visit to you, we also made the switch to Sounds Write, which has given us great consistency and rigour in our phonics and spelling lessons across the school. I think both of our schools already shared a strong vision of a knowledge-rich curriculum from schools such as Reach Academy, but seeing your school implementing this so successfully provided us with a roadmap to do the same with our curriculum approach. I am really looking forward to returning to Princecroft in the future to see the next step in your journey.
